Spring Club and Organization Fair held at BHSU
SPEARFISH, S.D. (KBHU TV) – The Black Hills State University Student Engagement and Leadership Center also known as SELC held their annual Spring Club and Organizational Fair Wednesday in Club Buzz located in the Student Union.
The Club and Organizational fair is an annual event that gathers student organizations reaching out to all Black Hills State University students with everything they have to offer. A total of 30 clubs and organizations were present at this event.
“It’s a really great opportunity for students to get involved and to feel a part of the campus community and it’s really important to our work in student affairs,” Said Erica Whitiker, Assistant Director of the Student Union and Activities Board. “We gather student organizations that are registered with our office, SELC, and they come to promote their organization for students to know things they have to offer.”
Whitiker also thinks it’s a great way to ‘get students engaged’, as another stepping stone.
For BHSU students, this is a great way to stay informed and connected of what so many clubs and organizations have to offer.
“This organization fair is really good at getting students connected here on campus and outside of campus.” Emily Skogen a sophomore at Black Hills State University, “I think this is a very good way to get students connected through academics, activities… it gets you connected to students, peers, and faculty.”
According to The Student Engagement and Leadership Center, the BHSU community offers more than 90 clubs and organizations.
Whether there’s a new student or a returning student wanting a fresh start, joining a club and organization can make a great impact on the student and the team.
