Black Hills State University Men’s Basketball Wins and Loses in January Games
The Black Hills State University men’s basketball played two home games at the end of January, 2015.
Black Hills State beat 12th-ranked Regis on Jan. 30. It was a close game all the way through but Nick Ongarato was fouled with 1.2 seconds left and sank both free throws. This put BHSU in the lead to win the game 59-60. Ongarato only played seven minutes in the game, but went four-for-four from the free throw line.
The great win carried over to the next day when BHSU took on fourth-ranked Metro State by coming out with some fire. At the half, the score was tied at 28-28. The score remained close through the game, and eventually went into a second overtime. With just a few seconds left, BHSU’s Brody Brisk slipped while driving to the basket and missed a chance to put the Yellow Jackets in the lead. Sadly BHSU fell to Metro 71-73.
BHSU played a heck of a game with three players scoring more than 10 points each. The clutch player from game one, Nick Ongarto, had 11 points and nine rebounds. Brady Bisgaard had a whopping 14 points. Riley Ryan lead the team with 18 points.
