The Black Hills State University Rapid City campus hosted this year’s Student Recognition Awards on Monday, April 29. Eight awards were given to acknowledge the achievements of students and staff from both BHSU and South Dakota State University. Former BHSU President Tom Jackson, Jr. attended and delivered remarks.
Student Taylin Montague received the award for Outstanding BHSU Undergraduate Student. Sarah Brooking received the award for Outstanding BHSU Graduate Student. Neither were present to accept the awards. Terry Irvine accepted the award for Outstanding BHSU Veteran Student. Dennis Morton was awarded the Director’s Award For Academic Achievement.
Two students from SDSU received awards. Brynne Dilley accepted the award for Outstanding SDSU Undergraduate Student. Dreena Streckfuss accepted the award for Outstanding SDSU Graduate Student.
Staff and faculty were also represented at the ceremony. Julie Scott accepted the award for Outstanding Staff. Brandyn Johnson accepted the award for Outstanding Faculty.
Student awards included scholarship prizes.
