The Student Technology Fellow program on campus is planning to hold their 2^nd Annual STF Showcase this week. The showcase is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union Jacket Legacy Room.

“The purpose of the STF showcase is to provide an opportunity for faculty, staff, students and the public to view a snapshot of the level of work that is being done by the STFs,” said Terry Hupp, STF manager.

Chris Dawes and Devin Feighan, Instructional Design group supervisors, proposed the showcase idea last year and the first STF showcase was held in early February. The STF Showcase was started to show faculty and staff the projects that the STF’s are working on and to improve their presentation skills.

The STF program is for students enrolled in the regent system and helps them develop skills in design and implementation of communications technology for instructional purpose. BHSU is allowed to have 23 STF positions by the South Dakota Board of Regents and are assigned two main areas of support, which are Instructional Design or Marketing and Communications.

“The program is seen as extremely beneficial both to the university and to the participating students. The STFs provide a valuable service to the university while advancing their own technical skills through the training and experience they receive,” said Hupp. “We certainly hope that the program will continue to be funded as it has led to excellent employment opportunities for many STFs after graduation.”
