Black Hills State University professor, Dr.IgnatiusCahyanto, is currently developingthe first annual report forthetourism andhospitality management programon campus in orderto develop and grow the program.
The annual report will serve two functions — to market andraise funds. Achievements and activities within tourism and hospitality management over the past two years will be showcased within the report. It will then be shared with industry partners, future students, and the general public.
The tourism and hospitality management program is one of the specializations in the School of Business. There are currently two degrees offered — a four year Bachelor of Science in Business Administrationand atwo year Associate of Science. BHSU is currently the only university in South Dakota that offers a tourism program.
“I do believe that through this report, the public will know our program better, and therefore open possibilities to future collaborations, partnerships, and other engagements that will strengthen our program and benefit our students,” saidDr.Cahyanto.
The report will be ready in time for the SD Governor’s Tourism Conference in Pierre. BHSU will have an exhibition table at this event to showcase the report and the tourism and hospitality management program.
