BHSU Bookstore Expands to Downtown Rapid City
Black Hills State University Bookstore opened a merchandise store in downtown Rapid City. The store is the latest endeavor in an outreach program for BHSU.
The store is located inside the Estes Campbell Law Firm building at 706 Saint Joseph St., in Rapid City – directly across from U.S. Bank.
It is a small office front but Michael Jastorff, director of the bookstore, says it provides a great selection of BHSU merchandise. The store is a way for everyone to have access to BHSU — not just staff and students.
“It is more than a store. It is a way to showcase the university,” said Jastorff.
Available items include BHSU apparel, coffee mugs and memorabilia. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Jastorff said he is looking forward to the summer months when increased visitor traffic and downtown activities will create more opportunity for BHSU. He added that staff will place merchandise outside during special events.
There is also a smaller bookstore in the Joy (Krautschun) Proctor Alumni/Foundation Welcome Center at 1531 Saint Joe St. in Spearfish. A bookstore is also located at the University Center in Rapid City at 4300 Cheyenne Boulevard. Visitors can shop anytime at www.bhsubookstore.com.
